As I’ve read lately on the Austrian Online Marketing Blog, Google now also allows the integration of product pictures and Google Map’s maps into text ads. Although Google seems to move slightly away from its “text-only” roots, but points out that the images must be “useful” for the user and thus “banner like” graphics are not welcome. Siegfried Stepke also pointed out on is blog that advertisers have to use Google’s servers which could mean a mean a stronger involvement between advertisers and Google. I’ve tried to find and test this feature on my own Adwords account but failed, so I can only rely on the blog cited.
For possible legal implications of the further integration of “more sophisticated” content into text ads please refer to my previous post.
