Another week, another new feature on Google. Summing up the full post (Official Google Blog) the new feature allows you to view formatted PDFs right in your browser, without the need to install a plugin or the need to install extra software on your computer. The big advantage of the “Quick View”, compared to the “View as HTML” option is that graphics, formatting and tables are preserved. The “Quick View” option is located at the end of the second line of the result, right underneath the title. As for the options on the result pages which I’ve blogged about earlier, these functions are currently not available for Austrian or German users. Thus I’ve taken the screen shots below directly from the Official Google Blog.
Some readers might wonder why my latest posts have not been addressing legal issues lately but .. as I am digging myself currently through a mountain of ECJ judgements concerning “trademark as a use” and “protection for other functions than the function of origin” … I don’t really feel like posting legal stuff right now.
