Dear Readers…

… just in case you’ve been wondering why there have been only so few posts lately … the answer is rather simple; I started working on the first of October and thus had to finish my PhD (to the extent that that was possible) before then. My supervisor was so kind as to promise to read my thesis by the end of November, so that I am quite positive that I will be able to submit soon after.

The main purpose of this blog is, and has always been, to communicate ideas about the research I did for my thesis or to highlight other issues which were related to it. Looking back I have to say that starting this blog was a splendid idea. Not only did it force me to actually write down all my (sometimes very confused) ideas, it also helped me – and that is best thing about having a blog – to find, connect and in some cases personally meet other great people in this field. It is safe to say that my whole research would have gone down a totally different (most likely less exciting and inspired and for sure more narrow-minded) path, were it not for great friends like Stephan Ott or the IPKats (just to name a few!). So at this point I send out a big “Thank You” to all readers and friends who contributed to my work through their feedback!

It is difficult to tell how much time I’ll have in the future to continue posting… but all I can say is that I am for sure not short on ideas and that I will use the next free second (after making myself familiar with my new work and hopefully soon finally submitting my thesis) to write about, e.g. the law of unfair competition aspects of the new Google Instant feature…

Please keep you fingers (claws) crossed, I will let you know when I’ve finally crossed the PhD-finishing line 🙂

Just wanted to wish you the very best and congratulate you on your progress. Have you any idea when you will be defending the thesis?

Max – NO! NEIN! Don’t tell me you will stop posting on this fantastic blog. I am secretly addicted to it and will openly admit to this addiction if this makes you continue with your posts!

Also, of course, the very best of luck with the thesis. I hope you will be able to publish the product of your hard work as an actual book in an academic series. I promise to review it!

I can’t wait to call you Dr. S!

Best wishes for your new job und viele Gruesse aus London ins schoene Wien!
